Curls on the\nBlock is a non profit organization attracting girls of all curls and colors to embrace\,\nexplore and empower their natural selves\, using beauty to connect to STEAM (science\,\ntechnology\, engineering\, art and math). \nWith the recent passing of Landmark Federal Bill The CROWN ACT (Create a\nRespectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair) through the House of Representatives\,\nCurls on the Block is kicking off the weekend with a live panel discussing statewide\nefforts featuring CO State Legislator\, Leslie Herod\, I Be Black Girl Founder Ashlei Spivey\,\nCrown Village co-founders Dr. Bernice Rumala & Shemekka Ebony Coleman on ​October\n16th\, 2020 at 6PM MST. \nUsing the free Curls on the Block APP\, participants will have access to a digital\nscavenger hunt featuring stores\, salons and companies catering to the curly hair\ncommunity. Additionally there will be a unique virtual escape room experience\nfeaturing rooms from the Black Girl Museum. \nAn author chat with Evette Dionne (Lifting as we Climb Black Women’s Battle for\nthe Ballot Box) will be streaming live on October 17\, 2020 at 12 PM MST. \nThe weekend culminates on Sunday October 18\, 2020\, with a panel highlighting Black\nFemale Steminists: Dr. Kim Uweh\, Toi Massey\, Dr. Jen Roper at 11AM MST with the\nfirst National Miss Curly USA Self-eSTEAM Pageant 2021 on October 18\, 2020 at 2\nPM for ticketed participants. \n\nContact: Analise Harris at info@curlsontheblock.com
