DESCRIPTION:Camp Curly is a 5 day experience for young girls to grow their confidence in their own hair maintenance\, STEAM career and activity exploration while building their self esteem. \nMonday through Thursday will be at Lowry Conference Center \n*Friday will be at Denver City Park for presentations at Colorado Black Arts Festival Natural Hair and Beauty Pavilion –Youth Day \nThree age ranges: \nBantu Knots 6-8 \nAfro Puffs 9-11 \nFrohawks 12-15 \nCamp day begins at 9 AM-3:00 PM (early drop off available on limited basis) \nEach day there are rotations and sessions highlighting how Hair\, Beauty and STEAM are connected. \nSpecific time to create and explore in multiple spaces: \nCurly STEAM Lab \nCurly Salon \nCurly Store \nCurly Classroom \n*Campers can purchase a Stay Curly Commandment Kit which includes: \nTshirt\, Detangle tool\, Water Bottle\, Hair Spray Bottle\, and other items supporting their week of activities! \nA few activities include: \nLearning how hair porosity impacts the health of hair and what to do with products \nIdentifying curl pattern/texture/density/ \nMake flax seed hair gel \nMake hair refresher \nDNA extraction \nDIY Makeup Activities \nPresentations from guest speakers \n2-5 Hair maintenance techniques \n***Email info@curlsontheblock.com for discounts\, scholarships and inquiries*** \nParents of multiples should request discount code for $50 off each additional child. \nReturning campers should request $50 code. \nEarly Bird Rate available through May 30\, 2025 \n
